Mike Bailey

Chief Mike Bailey was appointed to the Washington Township Fire Department on May 6, 2009.  He was promoted to Captain of EMS Operations on January 16, 2014 and to Assistant Chief on March 10, 2020.  He was promoted to Chief on January 2, 2024. Chief Bailey brings with him the knowledge and experience amassed over a career in the medical field for over 21 years having worked for Promedica Health System, Pathology Laboratories and currently with Bon Secours Mercy Health System at Mercy St. Vincent.  As EMS Chief, he is responsible for overseeing the daily EMS Operations of the department including all training and continuing education.  He is able to do so by serving as both the departments’ CE Instructor and CPR Instructor.  He also serves as the Health & Wellness Officer for Washington Township.

Chief Bailey is a State of Ohio FF/EMT, CE Instructor, CPR Instructor, Fire Officer I and graduate of the University of Toledo earning a Bachelor’s Degree from the College of Arts. Letters with an Emphasis in the Biological Life Sciences.  He currently resides in the Township with his wife Sherri and their 3 children Michael, Gabriella and Calvin.
