Ronald Kay
Chief Ronald Kay was appointed to the Washington Township Fire Department on January 21, 1986. He was promoted to Captain in 1990, Assistant Chief in 1999 and appointed Chief of Department in 2016. Chief Kay brings over 35 years of fire service experience to the Washington Township Fire Department. Chief Kay is a career fire lieutenant with the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department of 33 years and currently serves as one of the departments Safety Officers. Chief Kay attended the Owens Community College fire science program. Chief Kay is a state certified Firefighter II, EMT-B, Fire Safety Inspector, Fire Service Instructor, Haz-Mat Specialist and nationally accredited Fire Safety Officer. Chief Kay is a 1985 graduate of Whitmer High School and currently resides in the Shoreland community with his wife Kim.
